BubblerWS

I've been on a bit of a hiatus lately. You see I've discovered this amazing site where I can actually get paid for posting short stories/reviews/rumblings. Just incase your wondering this post isn't in anyway sponsored by BubbleWS, I'm writing this because I genuinely love this site! A week and a half ago I signed up after reading about it on Money Supermarket Forums. I didn't really believe what people were saying but thought it's worth a shot, nothing to lose by signing up.

After just 40 posts about 400 characters long I have made $50.25 over the course of 2 weeks. This is sent in the form of an Echeque using PayPal. Some people have said it takes some time to get the money from them but others have got it after 4 days. I received my first redemption after 12 days. It'll help towards paying off my credit card.

You may have noticed I'm talking in dollars. So I'll have to factor in how much I'll actually receive in pounds. The amount you can earn is unlimited I believe but you have to have made $50 before you can withdraw e.g. Withdrawn $65 so need to make another $50 before withdrawing again.

Basically BubbleWS is a social network which encourages friendships and networking by paying you to write on their site. They feel it's a great way to give back to their users. In order to earn money you have to gain likes, comments and views on your posts. The quickest way to do this is to make connections and like, comment and view others posts. So if you want to earn a bit of cash for typing a few words a couple of times a day SET UP YOUR ACCOUNT and come say hello. I love it but it does take time and patience as with anything new. The site is also going through some changes and sometimes its hard to get on.

Hump Wednesday Blog Hop #2

It's the middle of the week and I'm about to embark on the interview of my life! I'm off to Urban Decay, Debenhams at 3pm and hopefully impress the Area Manager and land myself a dream job. This Wednesday for me most certainly isn't a Hump day. I would normally be getting ready for work, eating my breakfast in front of the comp catching up on my favourite blogs. Instead I'm research the company and styling my hair. Yes my interview isn't until 3pm but a girl can never be too ready right?

1 year Blogiversary and Giveaway

This month marks 1 whole year of my blog ❤ It's actually birthday date is 31st July so I thought I'd do a fabulous giveaway now to be announced on the day :D I just want to give a little back to my readers becuase if you hadn't been reading my posts and showing me how much you love what I write via comments, follows and tweets I probably wouldn't have continued. It's YOU that spurs me to get off my butt and discover new products/brands to review. I've made so many friends locally and abroad. If I hadn't become a blogger at the age of 27 I wouldn't have found the courage to become a student again and follow my heart into the big, bad world of makeup artistry.

Everything changes..

I have been battling with my blog name for awhile now. I had been seeking the advice of others whether to change the name or not and most people said it was a great idea. After a lot of thought I decided against it. Instead opting for an intriguing new header instead. 'Paint the UK Pink' is a unique name and a name that my readers now associate me with. Changing it would cause confusion and a drop in readers I'm sure. It would mean having to change all my links and knowing me I'll miss an important one. Have you ever changed your blogs name? How did it go down with your readers?

I love my new header, naturally sticking with my pink theme. Can you imagine me in blue?! :O I designed it myself however the pink brush isn't my own, I wish it was. I also updated my picture with something more recent. Every time I dye my hair my whole look changes. I just have to update my profile page and I think I'm just about there, for the mean time anyway. I have to thank my many teenage years on Myspace for teaching me how to use HTML.

I've been trying so hard to create a blog button but each time I upload it the grab box is empty. I have hunted high and low for different html codes but not found one that works for me. It must be me that's doing something wrong because I doubt all those codes can be wrong. I would really appreciate someones help on this. If you have a code that has worked for you drop it into a comment for me to give a try :)

Review: Dirty Works Skincare

I recently ran out of moisturiser and was very naughty. Instead of buying a new one I started using my boyfriends. It left my skin soft but my skin broke out :O That'll teach me! So out I went to Sainsburys to buy something more suited to my skin. I always look for whats on offer. I'm not very loyal to any particular brand as it doesn't seem to matter what I use they all do the same job... Que many #bbloggers mouths dropping open.

Review: Clairol Perfect 10 Medium Ash Blonde hair colour

I have been dying my hair since the beginning of High School. I remember clearly the first time. It was a wash in/wash off blonde colour. I wanted to go lighter as I was a dark blonde. I dyed it myself and was very disappointed when it came out an orangey blonde. Ofcourse back then I didn't understand WHY I couldn't go blonder without bleaching it. It didn't put me off trying though and tested out probably every brand and colour I could get my hand on.

Home dying is very easy to do but also very easy to get wrong.

New Year Resolutions 2013

It's that time of year again where we make new resolutions for the year ahead only for them to be broken by 31st January. Sometimes they last a bit longer but generally by the end of the year they are forgotten. Now with my blog though I can write them down for all to see. Then at the end of the year look back and see if I actually achieved them.

Makeup Artist in the Making

I finished work today to discover an email confirming my place on a new career path in 2013. I enrolled at Jackie Hamilton's School of Beauty, Norwich starting in March. I will be training to become a Level 2 qualified Make-Up Artist (MUA). It's something I have always had an interest in but thought I would never do!

Books of the Year 2012

Since reading my first 'grown up book' at the age of 11, namely 101 Dalmatians, I have loved reading. My boyfriend doesn't understand it. He like many other people I've spoken to about my love of books say they just don't have the time. I find getting lost in a good book is better than watching a film. Books last longer and linger with you after you put them down. Sometimes it's really hard to put them down but you know you must. Then there's the excitement of going home to carry on reading from where you left off.

Clothes Show 2012: Goody Bag #3

Third instalment of my goody bag series - the Your Hair stand was my last find of the day as I didn't have a map so pretty much guessed my way round. I did find a big board with a map about 30 mins before I left! Typical, always the way isn't it haha

The bag these goodies came in was transparent so I could see the contents before I bought it. I wouldn't normally buy this magazine as my hair stays very much the same style. In fact I know you'll give me a virtual slap for this but I haven't had a hair cut since August.

Clothes Show 2012: Goody Bag #2

Second post in my goody bag series which I collected from The Clothes Show on 7/12.  As an avid Cosmo reader since the age of 15 this bag was always going to be my fav. It's a shame their bags weren't as awesome as the Models Own and my were the staff in a tizzy. Their wasn't enough change so I had to wait to be served while they found some.

Cosmopolitan and Company Magazine had teamed up at The Clothes Show this year. The goody bag only cost £3 can you believe it?!? Cosmo itself is £3.60 and Company £2 ✩

This is a first in a series of goody bag posts which I collected from The Clothes Show this week. Check out the fabtastic bag above! It's huge! I wish nail polishes came that size. The Goody bag was FREE with the purchase of 3 Nail colours for just £5 ... yep I typed that right £5!!

The Clothes Show 2012 Review

A couple of weeks ago I wasn't even thinking about The Clothes Show in Birmingham. Partly due to the fact I hadn't been in years as I couldn't afford to go and it was the same this year. I just happened to enter a competition to win 2 tickets to The Clothes Show Live run by the wonderful Caroline Lichfield @Caroline__Mary on her BLOG and won! I couldn't believe my luck and called my sister to tell her the good news. She was bouncing off the walls as she's been on at me for ages about going.

Everyone has a blog now right? Blogs are a vital part of online social networking, showcasing our work, reviews, thoughts and hobbies to a wider audience. Blogging is an online Diary for the whole world to see, so you may not want to reconsider that post about your flatmate who dyed her hair pink by mistake and is now hiding under a scarf at work, she won't thank you for it. It is about expressing yourself but not to the point where people cringe when reading your posts. I have put together a few tips that may aid you in your start up...

How to get your blog or business noticed

If you're just starting out or are looking for ways to boost your business/blog, successful self-promotion is key. Get your name out there with these tips...
Social media
Websites like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Friends Reunited, etc have become so popular that they're now essential – not to mention free – marketing tools that are almost expected for every business, large or small. LinkedIn is especially for businesses and since May 2003 has over 120,000.000 users! If it's a self-employed business you want to promote why not start a blog. Add a Facebook 'like' button to each of your blog posts, and to articles or videos you love. Link your accounts together so that everything you post on your Facebook business page automatically posts on Twitter too, and vice versa.
