At the Movies Collaboration

Re Fab and the other members of SPFX, Face and Body painting group on Facebook are celebrating reaching 1000 members. They have invited myself and the other members to join them "at the movies" by picking a movie character and getting creative.

As a new addition to the group I wanted to show my support and after a bit of research settled on catwoman. Why? Despite being a makeup artist I don't often do makeup on myself, instead I stick to full face painting to hide behind. Catwoman has always been one of my favourite bad girls with seriously killer lips and fierce nails! Batman Returns will always be by far my favourite Batman. Naturally Catwoman wears a mask but I thought why not paint it.

Products used:

The Face Painting Shops Cameleon face paints and brushes
Urban Decay Naked 1
The Vintage Cosmetic Company Betty lashes
Vasaline

With as few products as this I managed to pull off a good look. The lips are my favourite part as I had to paint quite an unnatural line compared to my own thin lips. Amazingly they didn't look drag. I hope you like it. I'll probably do another movie inspired look if I get the time. Head on over to my IG @wendyenglandmua where the collab is happening.

Behind The Scenes - Where the magic happens

Do you post behind the scenes images from your photoshoots? If not why not? What happens before the photographer gets their itchy fingers on their cameras and the model is very important. Showing others what you as a Makeup Artist, hair stylist, designer etc go through in preparations for a photoshoot gives them a glimpse into your world.

Spending Ban Collaboration #2

Paint the UK Pink

It's been a few days since I started my spending ban and it's all calm at sea so far. I was absolutely GUTTED when I was contacted by my favourite blogger Tattooed Tea Lady via twitter yesterday. Turns out a space had become available at the Nottingham bloggers meet. I knew I couldn't afford to go (it's a 3hr 30min drive) and if I could afford petrol the shopping alone would be too much temptation. I've never been to one of her meet ups before but read all about them. Guess where I am today?

Spending Ban Blogger Collaboration #1

Last night I found myself on the Makeup Academy website adding item after item to my cart and before I knew it I'd stuffed in over £20 worth! Did I need any of the products? No! Did I really even want the cheap eyelashes, bargain lippies or sticky glosses? Not really. So why did I continue through to checkout and click pay now? 50% off ofcourse! This my friends is where an intervention is needed.
