ABOUT

"You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one." - John Lennon

I didn't know what I wanted to be when I grew up. While my friends were busy planning fruitful careers or cooing over future baby names I was dancing, drawing and reading. As a teenager I enjoyed drawing and creating new projects from different mediums but I didn't feel I was good enough to pursue a career in Art. Instead I chose to do a BND in Fashion and Textiles (and later the HND in the same field) at Great Yarmouth College. For someone who's wardrobe was full of clothes from charity shops this came as a surprise not just to others but myself also. It would allow me to still be creative and try something different.
I got a thrill out of planning, researching, location and studio photoshoots, styling the models, collaborating with other departments, the fashion shows and exhibitions. Really, everything that went into creating the final outcome.

You don't have to justify your education by demonstrating its financial rewards. Anyone who expects you to has no sense of the arts. - Quoted from Tiny Beautiful Things by Cheryl Strayed

During my 4 years at college I was also working evenings at Sainsburys. When I qualified from college I continued to work there, moving from evening shift to night shift for another 4 years. Apart from a short course in Professional Make-up application my creative juices took a back seat while I attempted to make rent and still every week is a struggle. So I started living my life through books instead and writing online.
Now in my thirties I escape, soring through marshmallow clouds on the back of a dragon; having a cuppa with Tom Hanks in New York; running through a maze bursting with goblins. I immerse myself in the literary and movie fantasies, feasting on stories. My blog is varied and bursting with beauty and lifestyle with a smattering of fashion. I can't blog regularly due to my current commitments but hope you'll enjoy reading when I do.

― George Orwell, 1984
