Makeup Storage

I've finally got around to creating some storage for all my makeup. I had tons of stuff in boxes in my spare room which has been driving Stuart up the wall. I never seem to have the time or energy to sort through it all. I was given two days off together from work after 4-5 weeks of 1 day off each week. I've been knakered! I was so relieved to have some time to go through it all.

MUA Undressed Palette Review

This is my first ever palette, not just my first ever palette post for you. I have never been interested in palettes to be honest, instead opting for a single, double or quad eyeshadows. Since becoming a blogger I have noticed how popular palettes are, most of all MUA's palettes. They are talked about almost on a daily bases across blogs. So when I had the chance to head into Superdrug I thought how aweful it would be of me to not buy one for myself.

Monday Beauty Haul

I'm starting to get the hang of these haul posts. I love the idea of teasing readers with your purchases for future posts. This morning I got a call from work to cancel my shift today. I was so thankful as it would have been day 7 of 8 plus I'm trying to get over a rotten cold which the girls at work gave me, bless them haha. Instead I took my better half to work and done what girls do best... went shopping! I haven't been shopping for myself in such a long time. When I say I'm off shopping it's normally in reference to the weekly food shop. Today I was in Norwich and bought myself my FIRST MUA products, I know, where have I been right?!

Reviewed: Essie Matte About You Topcoat

I heard so many good things about this product from other bloggers that I just had to find out what the hype was all about. Essie's Matte About You is a versatile, quick drying topcoat.

It's frickin' awesome! I adore this little beauty. At only £8 it's a bargain and you can create such amazing effects with it. It's incredibly fast drying, I mean blink and it's dry! So be careful when applying and do it quickly. It goes over just about any nail polish. You'll be surprised at how this will give your fav nail polish a new makeover. Essie also says that wearing hand lotion is fine with this product, you can apply as much hand lotion as you want without it interfering with the product. I did find that after a couple of days the matte did seem to fade but this was only with the black nail polish, with the pink I wore in my previous post, you can find that HERE, the effect lasted much longer. Depending on what polish you apply this topcoat over you will receive differing results.

Vanilla Smoothie Receipe

It's late at night and I'm craving something to sweet.  I'm naughty and often go for some chocolate, especially a chocolate milkshake... that's right, they aren't just for kids ;) Recently however I've been trying to be a bit healthier. I freed my smoothie maker from the realms of my cupboard where it was being held captive by empty bottles and bowls for well over a year!

I rummaged through my tins and juices and put together this tasty little number which I have named ...

Drum roll .........

Ingredients

- 1 half tinned quartered pears in fruit juice
- 3 scoops of Vanilla frozen yogurt
- 4-6 ice cubes
- 1 Vanilla pod

There really is no need for me to tell you how to do this. Just put all your ingredients into the blender and blend until smooth. You may need to add some apple juice of some milk to water the mixture down. It's all trial and error really. I've made this particular smoothie 3 times now and each time I added something slightly different and the results were always tasty :D

If you end up with some left over mixture. Just cover it and leave it in the fridge for the morning. Don't leave it for more than 12 hours as I found it didn't look very appetising.

Good Luck!

Give it a go yourself and give me your feedback ♥

How to use Models Own Glitter Magenta Divine

Glitter nails were all the rage at Christmas, full on in your face glitter. The kind that didn't come off, layer upon layer of glitter. I tried that look once and decided not to do it ever again. Opting for a more classic polished nail. I hate to waste things though, especially when something is as pretty as this Models Own glitter polish. Honestly, before today it was still sealed. I bought it in December at the Clothes Show so I could get a free goody bag. I love pink! Hot, soft, salmon, coral, any shade of pink and I'll wear it. I haven't done a nail post in awhile so thought I'd throw something together and see what happened.

February Superdrug Mini Haul

Today I headed into Norwich to get a few bits for Valentines, for myself and for Stu. It's safe to post them on here as I know he never reads my blogs, actually he doesn't even know the link ;) This is my little safe heaven, my girl spot, away from the hum drum. I headed straight for Boots to compare prices with Superdrug as many beauty bloggers seem to be shopping in the latter. I don't know which you prefer but I've always bought my cosmetics and toiletries from Boots. Superdrug are sometimes cheaper by about £1 on their own branded products, but brands are the same price. I just wish Boots stocked MUA!

When you're gone ... R.I.P

It's been a tough few days for my partner and his family. His Grandad passed away this morning after a tumour was found last week. There was nothing more the doctors could do for him. Stuart was the last person to be with him before he passed. There is some comfort that can be taken in being able to say goodbye to the ones you love dear. It's a sad time when a family member dies, you don't know what to say to anyone.

His Grandad was such a comedian. I didn't know him for very long, just the 4 years that myself and Stu have been together. When I first met him I didn't know he was such a joker. I listened intently at his little story. I wish I could remember what the story was about now.  He got to the end of his story and made his punch line, that's when I knew the whole thing had been a joke and I feel for it, hook, line and sinker. I've never met someone who had such a great sense of humour. That will be how I remember him.

Five Minute Friday: Afraid

It's that time again. I missed last weeks post as I just couldn't think of anything to write. This will be very quick as I have to leave for work in 25mins. Check out Lisa's blog http://lisajobaker.com/

Bloggers post for 5 minutes flat about a set topic and they aren't allowed to edit of backtrack on their words. It's about the love of the written word and just letting it flow. I thought how beautiful and on this snowy Friday thought I would join in for the first time.
