Open Eve at Jackie Hamilton School of Beauty

This is just a short post as a follow up to my 'MUA in the making' post. Tonight I went to an open evening at Jackie Hamilton School of Beauty where I will be studying starting in March. I was joined by my friend Sheena, who qualified beauty therapist and nail technician, who is supporting my choice to re-start my career.

The school is situated on Dove Street, Norwich and I was surprised to see have an office space adjacent to Pixiwoo!! I don't need to tell you who they are surely. The school was a lot smaller than I expected, simply just one room split into a theory area where all the paper work is carried out and the practical area. The practical drew me in as there were 10 chairs sat next to 10 tables with illuminated back stage style mirrors. I've always wanted one of those! I even had a peek at the makeup set which I will be given on introduction. The tutors were very friendly and informative. Answering all of my questions and in return asking me lots of questions about why I've chosen to study makeup. I was the first one there so received the tutors full attention and browsed the folders of other students. After 20mins the room started to fill up which was my queue to leave.

January Empties: Products I've used

January has finally come to a close and my bank balance is now looking much healthier, 5 weeks without money is a bloody long time. I've been living on my products from my Christmas presents this month. This is my first empties post. Surprising really as empty posts seem to be very popular within the beauty blogging community.

Review: Sudocrem

You must have heard of this little miracle product by now. If not why not?? Your mum will have most probably used it on your bum when you were a baby, or on your knee when you fell over and cut yourself. You'll find it down the baby isle of your local supermarket. Why am I blogging about it? A beauty blogger, aged 28, without any children? No I haven't fallen over recently. I have actually been using this for a very long time on my face.

Five Minute Friday: Cherished

I came across a hashtag I hadn't seen before this morning on Twitter #FMFParty and I had to take a look. I then discovered a ladies blog http://lisajobaker.com/ The hashtag stands for Five Minute Friday. Bloggers post for 5 minutes flat about a set topic and they aren't allowed to edit of backtrack on their words. It's about the love of the written word and just letting it flow. I thought how beautiful and on this snowy Friday thought I would join in for the first time.

Review: Dirty Works Skincare

I recently ran out of moisturiser and was very naughty. Instead of buying a new one I started using my boyfriends. It left my skin soft but my skin broke out :O That'll teach me! So out I went to Sainsburys to buy something more suited to my skin. I always look for whats on offer. I'm not very loyal to any particular brand as it doesn't seem to matter what I use they all do the same job... Que many #bbloggers mouths dropping open.

Review: Clairol Perfect 10 Medium Ash Blonde hair colour

I have been dying my hair since the beginning of High School. I remember clearly the first time. It was a wash in/wash off blonde colour. I wanted to go lighter as I was a dark blonde. I dyed it myself and was very disappointed when it came out an orangey blonde. Ofcourse back then I didn't understand WHY I couldn't go blonder without bleaching it. It didn't put me off trying though and tested out probably every brand and colour I could get my hand on.

Home dying is very easy to do but also very easy to get wrong.

Benefit Mr Bright Review

Yipee a beauty post ;) It's been awhile and instead of apologising on all my lifestyle posts I thought it about time I do a beauty post. I bought this little beauty from Amazon early in December and I've been testing it for a bit before I blogged about it. It's called Benefit's Finding Mr Bright and TINY but so cute, about the size of my hand.

Overweight at 28

Sorry for the rhyming title XD I play way too much Bingo. I HATE diets with a passion! The only time I have tried it was 4 years ago before I met my boyfriend. Well it wasn't so much a diet as it was a stop eating all together marathon. I lived off soup and crackers for nearly 2 months and exercised for an hour every day. I lost over a stone and felt great. But like all good things it had to come to an end. As soon as I went back on the chips I put it all back on plus double.

Since then I haven't been near a person on a diet nevermind done one myself. I have just avoided them completely. Everyone seems to be on a diet now. We all have that one friend who is on a diet and their favourite phrase is 'the diet starts tomorrow' everytime they slip up. They make you feel bad because your not on one. So basically calling you fat lol I am the first person to tell someone to embrace their CURVES. Mind you though when I say curves I mean these ones ➷

New Year Resolutions 2013

It's that time of year again where we make new resolutions for the year ahead only for them to be broken by 31st January. Sometimes they last a bit longer but generally by the end of the year they are forgotten. Now with my blog though I can write them down for all to see. Then at the end of the year look back and see if I actually achieved them.
