Review: Tropic Skincare Body Smooth*

What makes me choose a skincare brand, or any brand honestly, is the leaping bunny logo. If a brand is cruelty free then I'm all over it. That is how I stumbled across Tropic - Pure plant skincare. You may have heard about this brand or even spotted it on TV. That's because it's the creation of Susan Ma who appeared on The Apprentice in 2011. Despite not winning Alan Sugar was so taken with Susan's brand that he became a 50/50 partner and after a re-branding Tropic has become a complete success!

Evamar Beauty Solutions reviewed*

This August I was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to trial products from a new brand which launched last year, Evamar Beauty Solutions. This brand uses only all natural ingredients which are sourced in the UK. I love when I know I'm buying products sourced and produced in my own country. When these arrived on my doorstep I expected to be receiving tiny packet samples which I would get one use out of. I didn't expect the samples to be miniature sizes of the full sized products! To say I was excited is putting it mildly.

Lashes by StarGazer

You may have read my haul post (see here) where I purchased these fabulous lashes by StarGazer. I bought them especially for a photoshoot I was doing to put my makeup skills into practise. Makeup application is an art form and I admire those who can do it without even having been taught. I took a Level 2 course so I was able to learn the very basics! I do not try be a professional, far from it, I'm just excited to be learning new skills within the beauty industry.

Boots Simply Sensitive Skincare Review

I'm on a roll with these skincare posts. It's the first step to getting a perfect base for your makeup. I cleanse, tone, moisture daily and use a serum at night. When I go a day without this routine my skin looks dull and lifeless. The first step in any routine is to take your makeup off, naturally. There's no need to put your makeup on especially, I mean what a waste ha ha. The area around your eyes is soooo delicate, it's a must to use a makeup remover especially for the eye area.

Clairol 106 Natural Medium Ash Blonde Review

For those of you that remember a few weeks ago I dyed my hair with L'Oreal Extreme Paris Platinum Blonde (read here) and ended up with a less than flattering outcome. I did actually rectify it. I didn't wake up the following morning and forget to sort it out. It would have gone something like this ...

How to make your own blog header with links

Blog design is so important; it's the first insite into your blogs personality. I'm always changing, creating and updating my design as you may have noticed. I'm forever searching for the perfect 'look' to help reach out to my readers and draw their attention. My boyfriend bless his heart has even tried to help me but as he doesn't understand our blogging world he just ends up creating very obscure designs which don't even fit with my theme. He admire him for trying and putting up with my moods, after hours of designing and still not getting the finished look I was hoping to achieve.

My 29th Birthday

I celebrated my 29th birthday on the 8th August. It will be one of my least memorable ones. Despite my boyfriend and sisters attempts to take my mind of my circumstances at the moment it was always at the back of my mind. You see I've been temporally laid-off for the past 3 weeks and I've been quite stressed out about it. I've looked for other work and had interviews without any success. I've come close to signing on to job seekers twice. The problem is I have too much pride to do so and I somehow feel like I've failed if I do, plus because of my partners income (not much) I wouldn't receive a whole lot from job seekers and it would probably cause me more stress.

Botanics Skincare reviewed

Have you discovered Botanics by Boots yet? This has been a favourite of mine for some time. I suffer from spots and combination skin which means my skin can get irritated easily. I find some products can be to harsh and leave me red faced but not Botanics. The ingredients are so gentle and nourishing. I often switch my moisturisers as I still haven't found a brand which suits me but I have stayed loyal to Botanics cleanser for years.

Benefit Makeup Collection

I do love Benefit, can you tell? Their cute packaging, designs and colours are just to die for. My favourite thing about Benefit? Their adorable miniatures. I don't always have enough money to spend on the full size product so pick up these smaller sizes which come with sets or sometimes free with magazines. I find they last ages too. There is enough product to get a really good trial out of them and by the time I've finished them I'm completely addicted and just have to buy the full size. Well played Benefit, well played. My collection may seem small, well most of them are miniature, but size doesn't always matter.

L'Oreal Preference Les Blondissimes Extreme Platinum Hair Dye

This new addition to L'Oreals hair colour range is called Extreme Platinum apparently but this was not my experience. It clearly states that it lifts upto 8 shades. A great advertising slogan but I'd be very wary of this damaging your hair.

I had grown bored with my light brown hair going brassy so felt the need to dye my hair again. The rational side of my brain never kicks in when it comes to hair dye. I know that the home dyes don't have a strong enough colour to lighten in the same way that a salon's colour would. Yet I still pick up a colour from Tesco and believe what it says on the box. It stated on the side that it was suitable for light brown. It even said suitable for dark brown but to expect it to be much darker than the front of the box.
